I’ve been fighting with the scale for all of my life. I’ve been a yo-yo 🪀 all the way long and I switch from a size S to a M/L and back with the same easiness I have when I sip my coffee ☕️. Last May I lost my pregnancy at the 7th week because of life threatening complications, which lead me to stay in bed to rest for a whole month. You didn’t notice because I kept on posting old photos to avoid questions or suspects. It has been the hardest time of my life and I gained 5 kilos because of the lack of movement and the hormonal imbalance. A couple of months later, while still mourning, I was scheduled for a live show in Tijuana, Mexico. I put my bravest face on and I did it, because there were people waiting for a whole year to see me. And a reporter thought that it would have been a great idea to use photos of my body, with me unaware of all of this, to gain some engagement on his Facebook page. Body-shaming at its finest. I read +400 comments of women mostly like “she’s a pork”, “she makes me wanna puke” and so on. If my self esteem in that moment was already damaged, that broke me in million pieces. I started avoiding tight and short clothes, friends feeling worthless, depressed. Couldn’t feel beautiful or confident anymore. Until one day my husband came up and told me “You are beautiful, you have a distorted view of yourself, stop bothering about the scale or the size. I love you just the way you are and you have to love yourself too.” The day after I went to him and said that I got it, I needed to start loving myself more. So here I am, in my glorious size 10/12 🇬🇧, with my beautiful dress from @femmeluxefinery getting ready for the Milano Fashion Week and my birthday 🎂. And you know what? I’m dressed in red because February is known as the cherries 🍒 month! Most of people think 🤔 that they are available only in summer while this lovely fruit is a whole year round joy. Cherries 🍒 as we know them originated with the sweet cherry, a tree that ranges all throughout Europe and into some of Northern Africa. It’s been eaten since times prehistoric, and was ultimately introduced to England in Teynham by order of the King 🤴🏻, Henry VIII. Since then they spread throughout the world 🌍 and are now enjoyed everywhere in all their variations.
